Tuesday We Went to the Zoo

And we took pictures!

Myself, Grandma Kathy, Lisa & Collin.

Lisa and her Lemur friends.

Birds hate me, and I hate them.

No trip to the zoo would be complete without a picture of Collin next to his favorite animal.

This Gorilla had the hiccups.

Collin rode the elephant.  Grandma Kathy rode the wild boar.

These are sea lions.  NOT seals.  They made that very clear.

Who enjoyed the gift shop more?  Simba...

or Dr. Zaius?

I wish I knew from where Colin got his ability to milk a camera.

Here are two easy ways to tell if an animal is a seal or a sea lion:
1. Seals cannot use their flippers to prop themselves up. Sea lions can.
B. Seals do not have external ears. Sea lions do.

The way to remember these two facts is to remember that sea lions have appendages that can either do more or are more external than seals; sea lion is a two syllable word and seal is a one syllable word; sea lions (two syllables) have two things (flippers for walking and ears for hearing) that seals (one syllable) do not.

Any movie or TV show made about a seal actually has used a sea lion as the star.
